The Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser emits specific wavelengths of light in high energy, which are absorbed by the pigment and this disperses the pigment into particles, breaking them into very small fragments. Most fragments will be immediately removed from the skin, other fragments will split even further into minute particles which will eventually be absorbed by phagocytes and ultimately get expelled by the natural lymphatic system.

The CO2 fractional laser has been known to provide some of the most dramatic, age defying results in the treatment of challenging skin imperfections including fine lines, wrinkles, photodamage, uneven skin tone and skin laxity, as well as in scar treatment, skin tags and benign tumours.

How does it work?

– Wear comfortable clothes for the appointment.
– Initially you will have pictures taken, of the area that you would like treated (for records and mainly for before & after results).
– You will be given special goggles to wear, and the laser treatment will be administered.
– The treatment usually lasts for 30 minutes, unless you are having multiple areas treated.
– You will be given aftercare advice.
– There is no need to fast prior or after the appointment.
– Avoid NSAIDs like Ibuprofen after treatment. However, you can take Paracetamol, if need be.
