About Dr Waheed Akhtar

My medical journey started from childhood following in my father’s footsteps although I came from a family of traditional doctors my passion was always in Critical Care and the management of the human body in terms of aging and pain management.

After studying Medicine in Lahore, I qualified as a doctor in 1994. In 2009, I registered with the General Medical Council and since have worked in NHS, mainly in A&E, in London.

During my initial training I never looked back as it was always in my genes that I would be a doctor, but as I developed my skills, I found my interest growing into the field of Aesthetic Medicine and Pain management, so after many years horning in my skills I have decided to open my first Aesthetic Practice here in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Antrim felt like home from the moment I started working in A&E at Antrim Area Hospital, in June 2020. I am looking forward to welcoming you to “Medics Aesthetics” where we will be showcasing the latest technology in Skin Rejuvenation treatments to Body Contouring, weight management & Pain Management & Female Wellness Clinic.
